-Abstract-
Several new entries towards the title beta-amino acid derivatives will be unraveled. Heavily functionalized aziridine and azetidine derivatives, carrying the beta-amino acid motif will be discussed. Focus will be given to numerous new compounds in chiral and achiral form. Some peculiar rearrangements of heterocycles will be highlighted. A novel highly enantioselective funtionalized ester and amide synthesis will be presented. These entries provide a very large selection of new compounds suitable for screening purposes in agrochemistry and pharmaceutical sciences. In addition, the link towards foldamer formation will be given using peptide chemistry.
