Exploring New Synthetic Strategies in Asymmetric Synthesis

-Abstract-
New discoveries for efficient asymmetric synthesis of various optically pure compounds continues to be a pivotal subject in modern organic chemistry. In this lecture, our recent efforts in developing new methodologies, new strategies, as well as new chiral catalysts for stereoselective C-C bond formation will be introduced. Asymmetric syntheses of various structurally important molecules such as chiral homoallylic amines, diarylmethylamines, isoindolinones and α-hydroxy ketones/esters with excellent diastereoselectivities and/or enantioselectivities have been achieved particularly by using chiral sulfur chemistry, chiral olefin catalysis, and chiral sulfur-olefin strategy. In addition, the synthetic value of some of the approaches developed has been demonstrated in several pharmacologically interesting molecules syntheses.
