-Abstract-
Intermolecular interactions play a significant role in a variety of processes ranging from simple acid-base chemistry to functional nano materials. At the extreme ends of the spectrum of the intermolecular interactions lie the electrostatic and dispersion interactions. Using phenylacetylene and some of its substituted variants we have demonstrated the ability to fine tune the electrostatic and dispersion interactions by choosing appropriate interacting partner. This talk will focus on the learning process and application to a wide range of molecular clusters.
