They are non-integrin type cell surface receptor to recognize extracellular matrix protein and become activated by fibrous type collagens. Their signaling is reported to activate fibrotic cells and immune cells and stimulate malignant cancer. We have developed a small molecule inhibitor against discoidin domain receptor tyrosine kinase and examined whether this inhibitor can suppress cancerous phenotypes and fibroinflammation.
