-Abstract-
Recently, there has been a great progress of the efficiency of organic light-emitting diodes using new materials and device structure. In particular, new host and dopant materials for the emitting layer were effective to improve the device performances of the organic light-emitting diodes. Our group developed various host materials for high efficiency organic light-emitting diodes using carbazole, phosphine oxide, carboline and benzofuropyridine moieties as core structures of the host materials. In this presentation, basic design concept of the host materials and various designs of the host materials will be reviewed and future direction for the development of the host materials will be proposed.
