-Abstract-
Liquid crystalline (LC) photochromic polymers typically possessing an azobenzene (Az) unit exhibits strong motional cooperativity, leading to a highly oriented directional alignment and highly sensitive mass migrations. This paper introduces our recent approaches to control mesostructures in thin films of photoresponsive Az-containing LC polymers. We expect that these new smart system will find new applications in thin film technologies for dynamic functions.
